DAPHNE, Alabama — The Daphne Lady Trojans never let the Lady Bobcats out of the bag Tuesday and rolled on to a 43-19 home win over 6A Area 1 Theodore.

The Lady Trojans picked up their sixth-straight victory and hope to keep the momentum going to close out the regular season.

“Well, we’re playing pretty well right now,”  Daphne head coach Tereance Pinkney said. “We just got back-to-back-wins over the weekend against Robertsdale and Vigor and I like how we handled the two games close together like that Friday and Saturday. And then tonight we took care of business at home again without losing any enthusiasm. Have to like that."

The Lady Trojans travel to Foley for a 6 p.m. tipoff Friday on a six-game win streak with a 16-5 overall record and a still perfect 3-0 area record. Daphne will host Fairhope Tuesday at 6 p.m. in their area finale. The Lady Pirates improved to 3-1 in the area and 14-9  overall with a win at Foley Tuesday.

“We have been able to let some of the younger girls play a lot and that’s good for everybody," Pinckney said. "And it’s good for the team, too, to let as many as possible get some minutes because you never know when they will have to step up and go in in a big game situation."

Against Theodore, the Daphne girls got on top of the scoreboard early and held leads of 16-9 and 26-12 after the first two quarters. The Lady Bobcats were then held scoreless in the third and fell behind 36-12 to start the fourth.

Amber Yelding led the Lady Trojans with 14 points and picked up eight steals while teammates Kirsten Henton added nine and Brittany McConico six. Tajah Ingram led the Lady 'Cats with eight points.
