HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Spain Park scored four goals in the second half to shut out the Daphne Lady Trojans 5-0 on Saturday in the AHSAA Class 6A girls soccer championship in Huntsville.

6A MVP Simone Charley had two goals to lead the Jaguars to their third straight state championship.

Daphne held Spain Park to just one goal in the first half. Daphne goal keeper Skylar Skultety had a Madeline Hughes shot from near midfield bounce out of her hands and into the goal at the 1:22 mark in the first half.

"I thought we played really well the whole first half," Daphne coach Rick Andrew said. "We knew that Spain Park was going to be strong and that they were going to come at us. I thought our girls played a terrific first half. It's a game of inches and on that one (Skultety) really thought it was a routine catch. Last minute, that's high school soccer. That's college soccer, pro soccer."

After an early second half goal from Marie Blount, the Jaguars scored three more goals from the 20 minute mark to the 13 minute mark.

The Lady Trojans finished 21-7-1.
