DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne’s Public Works Department issued an update for roadwork in the Lake Forest subdivision that began on Monday. In the four days since the project began, work started on Ridgewood Drive. The contractor has begun removing asphalt in 400-foot spaces, to be replaced with new asphalt.
Property owners with land between 506 and 532 Ridgewood Drive are the only residents currently affected by the construction, but traffic has been limited and some traffic is diverted away from this area during work hours. Thru traffic is being diverted to Worchester Drive, the department reports. Local traffic is still allowed through.
Affected property owners have been asked to park in the median while work is being done in front of their property, and to refrain from using their sprinkler systems.
Residents will be notified by a flyer on their door prior to work commencing in front of their property.
In the coming week, the contractor plans to place gutters and curbs along Ridgewood Drive between 506 and 532. Along the same stretch of road, the contractor will cut out segments of asphalt and place new curbing the next day. The contractor is also removing concrete driveway aprons and replacing them. The new aprons require at least 24 hours before they can be driven on.
The contractor may begin removing trees from the median in the coming week as well and sod is expected to be delivered and placed beginning Monday.
