Lake Forest roadwork update for the week ending April 30

Posted

DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne’s Public Works Department issued an update for the roadwork currently taking place in the Lake Forest subdivision of Daphne. The project began with work on Ridgewood Drive.

Jeff Phillips with HMR Engineering reported that the inside curbing has been completed on Worchester and Ridgewood Drives. He also reported that driveways along Ridgewood would be completed before the weekend started. Contractors report a drain has been completed on Lawson Road.

Residents can expect to see debris, which has been piling up in the medians, picked up on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning next week.

Property owners whose property is between 503 and 532 Ridgewood Drive and 145 and 152 Bayview Drive are the only residents currently affected by the construction, but traffic has been limited and some traffic is diverted away from this area during work hours. The contractor will have two flaggers in place next week to direct traffic.

Work will commence next week to install an under-drain from 145-152 Bayview Drive, which will be covered with seed and mulch.

Affected property owners have been asked to park in the median while work is being done in front of their property and refrain from using their sprinkler systems.

Residents will be notified by a flyer placed on their door prior to work commencing in front of their property.

Daphne’s Public Works Department will hold status meetings regarding the Lake Forest capital road improvements each Thursday and send email updates on Fridays.
