Julius Leonard “Joe” Lambert, 74, a native of Flomaton, a resident of Eight Mile for 50 years and a resident of Franklin Creek, Miss., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
He was a retired machine operator for International Paper Bag Mill after 36 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran where he served in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Aaron, his step-father Herman Aaron and his brother, Willis Lambert.
Survivors include five children, Kathy (Jimmy) Rodgers of Agricola, Miss., the Rev. J.P. (Renee) Lambert of Stapleton, Charles Lambert of Chunchula, Melanie Presley of Franklin Creek, Miss., and James “Jimbo” (Shelia) Lambert of Citronelle; sister, Myrtis (Ben) O’Dell of Agricola, Miss.; former wife of 25 years and friend, Mary (Boots) Rich; seven grandchildren, Shane Lambert, Mandy Lambert, Jedidiah Lambert, David Ray Presley, Courtney Lambert, Alexis Lambert and Broklynn Lambert; and two great-grandchildren, Justin Lambert and Laykin Lambert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at Stapleton Church of God with the Rev. Tim Cauley officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery in Flomaton.
