DAPHNE, Ala. — In an effort to encourage business owners to beautify the surroundings of their establishments, the Daphne Beautification Award Committee quarterly selects a business to recognize and honor, for the effort they are making to improve the city’s aesthetics.
This quarter’s award goes to Chris Myers Auto Mall, which has been an integral part of the city of Daphne’s landscape for 27 years, according to a DBC spokesperson.
“Meticulously landscaped, with its seasonal change of flower color, easily makes it one of the city’s most beautiful landscapes along the main corridor leading into the city on Highway 98,” a DBC news release said. “No matter what season you drive by, there is a splendid array of color.”
On Sept. 29, Mayor Fred Small presented the framed DBC “Certificate of Appreciation” to business owner Chris Myers. Also in attendance was Myers’ hunting companion, “Jack,” a springer spaniel. Vicki Harris, fixed operations manager, and Daphne Beautification Award committee members were also present.
In addition to the “Certificate of Appreciation,” several Daphne Beautification Award signs were posted on the premises for three months so citizens and visitors of Daphne will be aware that this business has been recognized.
