Larrayne Holley Andress, 89, born June 22, 1921 in Jacksons Gap, a resident of Mountain Brook, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010.
She attended Howard College, now Samford University in Birmingham and she and her husband, Harry R. Andress Jr., were founding members of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Brookhill Forest Garden Club and a founding member of the Amulet Club.
During World War II, she worked for the War Price and Rationing Board. She and her husband enjoyed their many friends at the Alabama Gulf Coast and were active part-time residents of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.R. Holley and Hettie Mae Davis Holley; her husband, Harry Andress; a sister, Elaine Holley Stone; and brother, Reginald Holley.
Survivors include two children, Harry R. Andress III and Larrayne Davis Andress; sister, Winifred Daugherty of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers, B.N. (Marie) Holley of Birmingham and H.L. (Doris) Holley of Leeds.
The family expresses special thanks to her caregivers.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 2 from the chapel of Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Burial followed at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
