BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Baldwin County Tigers used last-inning heroics to sweep the Robertsdale Golden Bears in a first round AHSAA Class 6A baseball state playoff double header on Friday.

Brandon Goins' RBI single sent Dre Cox home from second base in the bottom of the eighth to win the opener 3-2, and Kyle Buck's solo home run in the top of the seventh put BCHS up 1-0 and sealed the series win for the Tigers. J.A. Harville pitched a complete game to win the opener, while Tucker Miller went the distance with nine strikeouts in the nightcap.

"Both Tucker and J.A. really pitched awesome," Baldwin County head coach Peter Bezeredi said. "They pitched outstanding games and we played solid defense behind them. That's the key, solid defense. I'm proud of my whole entire team right now."

Isaac Bradford took the loss for Robertsdale in the opener, and Patrick Kucera gave up one run on four hits with five strikeouts in the second game.

Baldwin County will face Fairhope in the second round on April 27.
