Laverne M. Darnell, 77, a native of Vernant Park and a resident of Fairhope, died Friday, May 13, 2011 in Fairhope.
She was a member of Eastern Shore Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Earline Ware, Alma Ware; four brothers, Dewell Morgan, J.T. Morgan, R.C. Morgan and Marvin Morgan.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Darnell of Fairhope; three daughters, Linda Rayborn Chupek of Fairhope, Karen Rayborn Aldridge of Pelham and Cheryl Rayborn Brister of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; three stepsons, Henry Darnell of Saraland, Don Darnell of Waynesville, N.C., and Ricky Darnell of Grand Bay; two stepdaughters, Cindy Darnell Bishop of Fairhope, and Jamie Darnell Logan of Robertsdale; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Lou Vickers of Bon Secour and Irma Price of Pensacola, Fla.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 17 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope with funeral services at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
