FOLEY, Ala. - The Optimist Club of Perdido Bay will host a Law Enforcement Appreciation breakfast in Lillian Saturday at 7 a.m. at the Lillian Community Center.
"This is the 17th year the club has put on the breakfast," Bob Wilters, club member and Baldwin County circuit court judge, said. "It's a way to express the gratitude to the law enforcement officers who go about their duty to keep Baldwin County safe,."
The event will include the announcement of the Officer of the Year and Citizen of the Year awards, and the FBI also will be in attendance.
"The FBI is supposed to be bringing some of their equipment to let people around there know what the bureau has," Wilters said. "State troopers are bringing a couple of vehicles, motorcycles and what they call their 'bat mobile' or blood alcohol testing vehicle. Those will be set up outside for people to look at if they so choose."
