Lawrence Everett Blackmon, 74, a resident of Magnolia Springs, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011.

Mr. Blackmon was a lifelong member of Magnolia Springs Baptist Church. He was employed with Monsanto Co. for 38 years as a design engineer.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Blackmon Hansen of Magnolia Springs; two sons, Lawrence E. Blackmon Jr. (Ginny) of Perdido Beach and Bradley Crook Blackmon (Laura) of Foley; four sisters, June Blackmon Taylor (Dr. Marvin) of Bon Secour, Polly Blackmon Kelly (James) of Foley, Geraldine Blackmon Gibson (Teddy) of Foley and Diane Blackmon Sheffield of Bon Secour; six grandchildren, Karla Hansen, Brook Duddy, Tripp Blackmon, Chantz Blackmon, Bree Blackmon and Mary Micheal Blackmon; and three great-grandsons.

Funeral service will be held at Magnolia Springs Baptist Church, Magnolia Springs, on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park, Foley.
