Alton Lewis Lay, age 91, a native of Miflin and a resident of Pensacola, Fla., died Monday, July 7, 2008.
He owned and operated Al's Curb Market for 20 years and Lay's Marine for 15 years, in Pensacola. He was a member of the Pensacola Baptist Temple for 70 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Charles Lay and a daughter, Shelia Louise Lay.
Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Burgess of Clearwater, Fla.; two sons, Teddy David Lay of Gautier, Miss., and Alvin L. Lay of Cantonment, Fla.; sister, Irene Shipman of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Thursday, July 10 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. Graveside services and interment followed at Lay Cemetery, Miflin.
