Mary T. Lazzari, 87, a native of Daphne, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009 in Milton, Fla.
She was a 1942 graduate of Auburn University and a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton, Fla., and active with many catholic organizations. She loved to travel the world, she acquired a special honor for cruising over 100,000 miles of the world's oceans.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Ida Lazzari and a brother, Angelo L. Lazzari.
Survivors include five sisters, Margaret DeFilippi of Jacksonville, Fla., Alice (Roy) Simms of Daphne, Sister Alexandrine D.C. of Mobile, Barbara (Ernest) Gable of Fairhope and Victoria (Lincoln) Parker of Daphne; two brothers, A.V. Lazzari Jr. and Louis H. Lazzari, both of Loxley; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at Christ The King Catholic Church with Father Timothy Deasy as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Belforest Catholic Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Little Sisters of the Poor or a favorite charity.
