Robert Wesley Lee Sr., 66, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at his home in Katy, Texas.

He was born on July 15, 1943 to Dorothy and Cullen Dewey Lee in Fairhope. He was a 1961 graduate of Robertsdale High School.

He received a ROTC scholarship to attend Auburn University where he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity and received his degree in industrial management.

After college, he joined the U.S. Navy where he was a lieutenant stationed on the USS Boxer during the Vietnam war. He received a master’s degree in engineering management from Northeastern University in Boston after his time in the Navy.

He was employed in sales by Datacon and Raytheon in Massachusetts and moved with his family to Missouri City, Texas, when employed by Augat Inc. He later became office manager for Dance and Gymnastics Unlimited in Houston before retiring.

Survivors include three children: Suzanne, Rob (Paige) Lee of Katy, Texas, and Ryan Lee of Houston; four granddaughters: Amber (10), Emma (4), Hannah (6), and Lauren (4); former wife, Dottie Lee of Houston; sister, Laverne Flannigan of River Ridge, La.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 from the chapel of Miller Funeral Services, Houston. Interment will follow at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
