James Douglas Lee, 65, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, died, Monday, Dec. 10, 2007.

He served four years in the U.S. Air Force.

He retired from International Paper Company after 32 years of service.

He passionately worked all around the world in orphanages and on mission trips and was an avid fisherman

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Alsup Lee of Fairhope; sons, James Mitchell (Molly) Lee of Fairhope, Bryan Linh Lee of Mobile; seven daughters, Terri Lee (Ray Lane) Thompson of Mobile, Kelly Lee (Eugene) Varvi of Magnolia Springs, Anh Lee (Ed) Geldart of Fairhope, Melissa Lee (Steve) Miller of Mobile, Mary Beth Lee (Kenny) Nelson of Fairhope, Katie Lee (Stephen) Still of Birmingham, and Emily Carol Lee of Fairhope; brother, Jack Lee of St. Augustine, Fla.; brother-in-law, Sonny (Susan) Alsup of Fairhope; sister-in-law, Billie Faye Creamer of Fairhope; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Fairhope United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Colony Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Children of The World, for St. Peter the Fisherman Orphanage, Carmen, Mexico, 811.
