Leila Marie Smith, 78, a native Stapleton and a resident of Loxley, died Thursday, April 12, 2012.
Mrs. Smith’s survivors include daughter, Jolene (Andy) Peavy, Castleberry; son, Gordon Russell (Darlene) Smith, Robertsdale; five sisters, Mary Melton, Seminole, Marjorie Blair, Irene Melton, and Bobbie Byrd, all of Stapleton, and Virginia Harris, Wetumpka; four brothers, Clyde Wilson, Jerrel Wilson and Hubert Wilson, all of Stapleton, and Henry Wilson, Perdido; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 14 at the Whitehouse Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Andy Peavy and Donald Melton officiating. Burial was at Whitehouse Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Alton Hankins, Craig Smith, Shelby Byrd, Clifton Wilson, Bill Nichols and Steven Propst. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090. Arrangements by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
