Lemuel Philip Williamson, age 59, a native of Atmore and resident of Orange Beach, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015.
Mr. Williamson was the owner and operator of Williamson Air Conditioning.
Mr. Williamson was a devoted family man. He also loved his community and was always the first to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need.
Mr. Williamson was an Orange Beach volunteer fireman for many years as well as a chairman for the board of directors for the fire department.
In addition to the fire department, Mr. Williamson served on the Orange Beach water board of directors as secretary/treasurer and as chairman of the board. Other community involvement included being one of the original organizers of the Orange Beach Mardi Gras parade; organizer and operator of the Pleasure Island Fishing Rodeo; coached Dixie youth baseball, where he helped establish the first baseball fields for youth baseball for Orange Beach.
He was truly a selfless person who always put others before himself.
Mr. Lemuel Philip Williamson is survived by his loving wife, Cornelia (Robinson) Williamson of Orange Beach; his mother, Willonese (English) Williamson of Robertsdale; two sons, Lemuel Kevin (Kathryn Dailey) Williamson of Tuscaloosa, Timothy Henson (Dawn Eastman) Williamson of Sterlington, Va.; granddaughter, Madeline Rose Williamson of Tuscaloosa; and brother, Joseph Eugene (Debra Jean) Williamson; as well as numerous extended family members.
Visitation for Mr. Williamson will be Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at Pine Rest Funeral Home, from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at Pine Rest Funeral Home, with service starting at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
The Williamsons request in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the United Methodist Church of Orange Beach.
