Flora Mae Davis “Flo” Lenoir of Foley, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009.

Foley was her hometown, except for the 26 years she lived in Tuscaloosa. She returned to Foley in 1973 and worked in the Davis Department Store that was started by her father, Max Davis.

Later, she opened the Harvest of Fashions dress shop. She was a devoted mother, a skilled artist, an active researcher of her family’s genealogy, an avid history student, and she loved cooking, growing flowers and gardening.

She loved searching through libraries, and she gave her collection of research books to the Foley Library’s Genealogy and Local History Section in the hope that others would benefit from them.

She was the daughter of Max Davis of Georgia and Louise Marshall of Monroeville.

Survivors include a brother, Bob Davis of Foley; three children, Dawn Peterson of Centennial, Colo., June Sudduth of Columbia, Md., and Brian Wozniak of Hoover; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Foley Library’s Genealogy and Local History Section, 319 Laurel Ave, Foley, AL 36535, or to the Robertsdale Health Care Center, 18700 U.S. Highway 90, Robertsdale, AL 36567.

Arrangements are by Pine Rest Funeral Home Inc., Foley.
