Leo Frank Carroll Sr., born March 16, 1934 in Spanish Fort, died Sunday, May 1, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Ishmael Carroll Sr. and Rosie L. Padgett Carroll; four sisters, Leona Harris, Olivette Williams, Viola Autry and Mary Carroll; and two brothers, Ishmael Carroll Jr. and Melvin Carroll.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Dorothy Carroll; four sons, Leo Frank (Vanessa ) Carroll Jr. of Decatur, Robert (Phyllis) Carroll of Daphne, Alvin (Tracy) Carroll of Fairhope, and Sgt. 1st Class Kevin (Mildred) Carroll of Daphne, currently serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan; five daughters, Patricia (Essex) Crawford of Montrose, Sherry Rudolph of Fairhope, Shirley (Larry) Thomas of Holts Summit, Mo., Frenchie (Mark) James of Daphne, and Sheldon Archie of San Diego; three sisters, Sarah McKissic of Spanish Fort, Elizabeth Caples of Daphne and Theresa Jemison of Ardmore, Pa.; two brothers, John Carroll of Spanish Fort and James Carroll of Ardmore, Pa.; 27 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives; and close friends. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 6 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens, Daphne.
