Leo Martin “Cotton” Cadenhead, 89, a native of Pittsburg, Texas, and a resident of Springhill, La., died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 in Bay Minette.
He resided in Springhill, La., for over 45 years, where he was an entrepreneur, owning many businesses such as Ben Franklin, Wackers, Mr. C’s Clothiers and The Rack. He was also a hospital adminostrator for Grays Hospital and founder and co-owner of FountainView Nursing Home.
He was a World War II veteran, an avid golfer, a member of the Springhill Masonic Lodge where he served as past master, past president of the Springhill Shrine Club and had the honor of being a member of “The Royal Order of Jesters.”
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Geneva “G.G.” Cadenhead.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy (Terry) Hanners of Perdido Key, Fla., and Kim (Wade) Baker of Gulf Shores; five grandchildren, Clay Toms of Benton, La., Jeff Pool of Fairhope, Ginger Maxwell of Ivan, La., Staci Tannehill of Shreveport, La., and Josh Pool of Springhill; 13 great-grandchildren; niece, Pam Havard; and nephew, Ron Cadenhead of Tyler Texas; his companion for many years, Nita Prichett, and her family.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at 703 Sixth St., NW, Springhill, La. A graveside memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 at Springhill Cemetery.
