Leon Edward McGugin, 89, a native of Brewton and a longtime resident of Fairhope, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014.
Leon retired from International Paper Co. after 36 years of service.
He was a member of Fairhope First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Mattie Howington McGugin.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Phillips Bryd (V.R. Byrd) of Bay Minette, Larry E. McGugin of Fairhope, Sandra Daugherty (Jerry) of Foley, Mona Thomas (Calvin) of Loxley, Deborah Mosley (Darrell) of Stapleton, and Donna Harbin and Regina McGugin, both of Fairhope; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. The family will receive friends from noon until time of the service.
Interment will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
