Leonard “Pete” Augustus Hand, 78, a native and lifelong resident of Magnolia Springs, died Feb. 21, 2012. He was a devoted Catholic and a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Magnolia Springs.
Pete was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Germany. After serving in the Army, he farmed with his family in Magnolia Springs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Dora Hand; and all of his brothers, Clarence Hand, Ernest Hand and Kenneth Hand. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Donnie) Givens of Robertsdale; and three granddaughters, Lauren Jellison and Leah Jellison, both of Richmond, Ind., and Janna Jellison of Robertsdale.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Robertsdale, with interment in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Magnolia Springs. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Ashbury Manor for their love, support and tender care.
