LILLIAN, Ala. — The Episcopal Church of the Advent will be holding their sixth annual BBQ and Blues Festival Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Lillian. Proceeds from the event will benefit the church’s outreach programs including Baldwin County Habitat for Humanity.
Along with local arts and crafts from area vendors, kids’ activities including face painting and plenty of BBQ food and refreshments, the festival will feature a live and silent auction, according to event organizer Carolyn Eiland.
Eiland said that the lucky winners of the live auction may have one of many choices to wager on: a dinner cruise for six on a 36 foot yacht, a catered party for 20 that includes hors d’oeuvres, a week at a waterfront home along Perdido Bay, or a lunch cruise for six, among other auctioned items.
The silent auction will feature antiques, collectibles, glassware, gift certificates for area restaurants, and more, she said.
Throughout the day, the big band sound of Don Lewis and Friends, a Lillian band, will accompany the festival’s activities
The festival will be located off County Road 99; head east from Fairhope, Foley and Elberta on U.S. 98; make a right turn before the bridge in Lillian that heads over Perdido Bay into Florida.
The event will be held on the Episcopal Church’s grounds, immediately down the road, on the right hand side.
Proceeds from the event will also benefit Ecumenical Ministries and the church’s building fund.
