Posted

The day dawned dark, windy and chilly, but by the time the American Legion Post XXXX stepped out to start the Annual Lillian Christmas Parade, the sun was out and the wind had died down.

Forty units were brought together by the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay for the special event led by Team Leader Judy Wargo. There were a variety of floats and cars and special units including the Hadji Temple of Pensacola with their antique cars and “The Misfits”. The Mustang Club and British Car groups also participated along wit the Foley High School Air Force ROTC.
Awards were given to United Methodist Church Youth, first place, and Bayside Baptist, second place. In the non-profit group the Lillian Community Club took first place and the American Legion came in second. Commercial winners were Perdido Bay Water, Sewer and Fire Protection, first place, and Crazy Horse Café, second. Evelyn’s Tax Service received an Honorable Mention.
