Lillian Mary Frances Moorer Hansen, born Nov. 9, 1925, a native of Baldwin County and resident of Fairhope, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011.
She was a professional singer, accomplished contract bridge player, talented cook, avid reader and classy world traveler, volunteering for and leading many organizations including Navy Officers’ Wives Club as president, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International as president, Welcome Wagon as president, American Red Cross, March of Dimes, Newcomers Club, church altar guild, and her son’s activities.
Her wisdom, strength and kind, gentle manner brought lots of joy to her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving son, Lawrence Hansen Jr.; her father, William Moorer; her mother, Annis Parsons Moorer; two brothers, William Moorer and James Moorer; and two sisters, Shirley Moorer Brazeau and Janette Moorer Mitchell.
Survivors include four loving grandchildren, Lawrence Hansen III, Laura Hansen Francini, James Hansen and Jonathan Hansen; nine loving great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Janice Hansen; nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends.
Her family wishes to extend their thanks and sincere appreciation to Linda Morris and the staff of Fairhope Health and Rehab for the loving care shown to their grandmother.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1 at Bay Minette Cemetery.
