FOLEY, Ala. - Brendle Paddie, a resident of Lillian and student at Pensacola State College, received a $1,000 scholarship from Chick-fil-A's national Leadership Scholarship.
Paddie, an employee at the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Foley, is the 11th team member from the specific location to receive the honor. Wayne Mozley, Chick-fil-A franchised operator, presented the scholarship to Paddie and gave kind words about the employee's work ethic and values.
"Brendle's core values and pursuit of excellence align with the integrity and superior standards of Chick-fil-A," Mozley stated in a press release.
The scholarship program, in its 38th year, helps employees seek higher education goals.
The chain will award $1.6 million to restaurant team members in 2011.
The fast food chain created the scholarship in 1973, seven years after Truett Cathy. Since the scholarship's inception, the food chain has awarded more than $1,409,000 to Alabama employees and more than $27.3 nationwide.
