Now that New Year’s Eve is upon us, The Foley Onlooker once again consulted with South Baldwin municipal leaders. We asked whether they make New Year’s resolutions. If so, what were theirs for 2014? Below are the responses we received.

I don’t do New Year’s resolutions.

— John Koniar, Foley mayor

I don’t have any.

— Bob Holk, Magnolia Springs Town Council

Yes, fighting to protect private property rights and keep any and all agencies from trying to use our town for their financial and political gain in the name of “climate change.”

— Gary Fishbeim, Perdido Beach Town Council

I sometimes make New Year’s Resolutions and when I do it’s normally to be more organized in the New Year.

— Charlie Ebert, Foley City Council

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions, but I do pray that God will help me spread the good news of Christ throughout the year.

— Priscilla Thornton Condon, Perdido Beach Town Council

My New Year’s resolution is usually always the same: eat healthy foods and lose a few pounds; Also, exercise moderately each day; be thankful and help others when possible..

— Rick Blackwell, Foley City Council

I don’t do resolutions. I do cut back on food and alcohol for a month or two to try to keep my boyish figure from becoming a zero (0).

— Sean Hickey, Perdido Beach Town Council
