Raymond Frank Lorenz Sr., age 83, a native of Darrtown, Ohio, and a resident of Foley, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Lorenz, a grandson, parents and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Mickey Lorenz; eight children, Sue (Knute) Alstad of Sun Prarie, Wis., Nancy (Robert) Parsley of Blue Mounds, Wis., Alan (Linda) Lorenz of Madison, Wis., Dave (Faye) Lorenz of Blue Mounds, Wis., Ray (Jane) Lorenz Jr. of Madison, Wis., Ed (Rhonda) Lorenz of Vesper, Wis., Jim (Jeralyn) Lorenz of Montclair, Va., and Julie (Conrad) Kohlmann of Springfield, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Annamae Bradley of Dubuque, Iowa; and a brother, Howard Lorenz of Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 23 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24 at St. Margaret Queen Of Scotland Catholic Church, Foley.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the St. Margaret Queen Of Scotland Catholic Church Building Fund, 601 W. Laurel Ave., Foley, AL, 36535.
