FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Page & Palette, 32 S. Section St. in Fairhope, will host author Valerie Steimle on March 20, from 10 a.m.–noon, during the annual Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival.

Her book, “Home is where the Heart is,” is a collection of articles written about how our trials and tribulations, our work and our finance, our entertainment and our ideals touch the lives of our families.

There are many distractions taking us away from what is really important in our life and this book reminds us that our families should always be important to us.

The book speaks to our minds and our hearts how we can strengthen our families.

Steimle poses the question, “Have you ever asked yourself what is missing in your life?” There is much commotion in the world, and people are looking for fulfillment.

Families are so important. They are what stabilizes us. We become so distracted with finances, work, entertainment and government that we don’t pay attention to what is really important — our families.

Steimle is the mother of nine children who lost her husband on New Year’s Eve 2006.

She grew up in New Jersey, spending much time in Brooklyn, N.Y. with grandparents.

She has remarried, and she and her current husband, James Foy from Sarasota, Fla., live in Loxley.

The author will exclusively sign all books purchased from Page & Palette.
