PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Fiesta of Five Flags Association announces the featured artist for the 32nd annual Pensacola Seafood Festival poster. Joan Blackburn, originally from Loxley, is a well-known Pensacola artist, teacher, juror and judge.

Her painting “Catch of the Day” is available for sale for $25 at the Fiesta of Five Flags office, 2121 W. Intendencia St. in Pensacola.

Limited posters will be sold at the official merchandise booth during the 2009 Pensacola Seafood Festival held Sept. 25, 26 and 27 at Seville Square in downtown Pensacola.

A professional artist for 30 years, Blackburn’s work is included in public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. She considers her forte to be in design and composition with a specialty in transparent watercolor florals, still life and water media abstracts.

Blackburn said, “Being an artist has enriched my life tremendously and there is a great deal of pleasure and satisfaction in this exciting, creative world of art.”

Blackburn will be available to sign posters at the gazebo in Seville Square on Sept. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m.; Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sept. 27, from noon to 2 p.m.

The Pensacola Seafood Festival is presented by the Fiesta of Five Flags Association, Buffalo Rock-Pepsi, Goldring Gulf, COX and WEAR ABC 3.
