LOXLEY, Ala. — The Loxley Police Department recently held their annual Employee Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 10 at the Loxley Civic Center where they handed out several service awards.
Officer Billy Coley received “Officer of the Year” honors for “outstanding statistics for on-view cases with numerous felony, drug and property crimes closed,” said Lt. Doug Phillips. “He was rated as the best overall officer based on monthly inspections, an annual review and production.”
“Officer of the Quarter” awards were also given out : First quarter (October-December, 2009) Samuel Curry, Second Quarter (January-March, 2010) Michael Landenwich, Third Quarter (April-June 2010) Billy Coley and Fourth quarter (July-September 2010) Dale Maddox.
A “Community Service Award” was given to Samuel Curry for consistently providing personal service to citizens and businesses.
“He was always making it a mission to meet and know persons within our community. He is very active within our local schools and with children portraying Loxely as a community-oriented town,” Phillips said.
Officer Daniel Middleton, a recent graduate of the Police Academy in Bay Minette in August, was recognized for receiving the “Commander’s Award” for his graduating class.
“There were 40 in his graduating class and he was recognized as the best overall officer. That’s the highest award presented at the academy,” said Phillips.
