LOXLEY, Alabama — The Town of Loxley is projecting a slight budget surplus for 2012 with projected revenues and expenses totaling just under $5 million.
At a special meeting held Monday, Oct. 24 with all Council members present, Loxley Mayor Billy Middleton presented the budget for 2011-12 with total projected revenues of $4,852,285 and total expenses of $4,695,883, a projected budget surplus of $156,402.
In minutes for the meeting, which were approved at Monday’s regular council meeting, it was noted that the budget reflected a 5 percent pay raise for town employees.
In the General Fund, revenues were projected at $2,718,185 with projected expenses of $2,956,479 with Utility Fund revenues projected at 1,923,000 and expenses projected at $1,049,162. Addition income is projected at $211,100 with additional expenses of $479,141.
In other business Oct. 24, the council voted to allow ARISTA Information Systems to provide bill statement printing and mailing services and electronic bill presentation and payment, and e-Bill services for the town’s utility bills.
The council also approved a request to hold a Martin Luther King Jr. March on Jan. 16 from the Loxley Church of God to the Loxley Municipal Park.
At Monday’s meeting, with all council members present, the Council approved Resolution No. 2011-29 awarding a bid contract to Pensacola Concrete Construction Company Inc. in the amount of $125,105.67 for a CDBG project for sewer improvements.
The Council also voted unanimously to hire an outside contractor to cut grass and weeds at 71 Grimes Lane in Loxley for a $75 fee. The Council also held a public hearing for violation of the public nuisance ordinance at 26000 County Road 55. No one from the pubic spoke at the hearing.
