LOXLEY, Ala. — On April 9 in Loxley local residents and those vacationing in the area will have an opportunity to acquire over 30 years worth of sports memorabilia, electronics, unique dishwares, furniture, and more. Aloha Hospitality parent company of local restaurants Baumhower’s Restaurants and Bimini Bob’s will be hosting a large yard sale with a warehouse-sized inventory of items collected over the years.
With currently 10 restaurants in the state of Alabama, the growth of the restaurant chains coupled with several relocations and remodeling of the locations through the years has resulted a large amount of items collected at Aloha’s support center warehouse. Owner and CEO Bob Baumhower sees this as an opportunity to share these items that he could no longer find a home for.
“I first started operating restaurants in Alabama back in 1981, and thanks to some fortunate personal connections and that I have been involved with sports-themed concepts, we’ve acquired a great amount of collectors’ items and memorabilia,” Baumhower said.
When asked why he had decided to part with so many of these items, Baumhower said, “Frankly, because I don’t have anywhere to put them anymore.”
While there have been a few items that Baumhower determined he couldn’t part with, he is happy that people can find new uses for these items. “Whether if it’s a collectors’ sports piece or someone being able to use a new set of dishware, I’m happy that these items can find a new home,” Baumhower said.
Sale items will include such prized items including autographed Daniel Moore prints, an autographed Tracy Rocker framed picture, countless items collected from Bob Baumhower’s All-Pro career in the NFL, and more. Also available will be quality smallwares, table booths, chairs, and other items from past restaurant remodels.
The “World’s Greatest Yard Sale in Loxley,” will be held Saturday, April 9 at 26801 Railroad Ave., just east of the intersection of Highway 59 and County Road 64 at Burris Farmers Market. Roadside signs and directions will be present. The sale begins at 8 a.m.
