James D. Luke, 80, a resident of Gulf Shores for the last six years, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 at his home.
He worked many years in the dairy industry and prior to his illness this year loved to fish and watch football games and NASCAR races. He was born in Ocilla, Ga., and had previously lived in Florida for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Luke of Yulee, Fla.; four daughters, Charlotte Montgomery, Kathy (Norm) Fisher and Peggy Luke, all of Yulee, Fla.; Lisa (Gary) Stansfield of Gulf Shores; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank his nurses, Viola, Nicole and Mary and Dr. Hankins and Dr. Scott Taylor and their staffs for all their help this past year.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
