Lurline Simmons McDaniel, 93, a native of Tylertown, Miss., and a resident of Daphne, died Sunday, April 3, 2011.
She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was devoted to her family and gave generously of her time and energy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nay William McDaniel; daughter, Lurline Theresa McDaniel; and grandson, Christy Lawless III.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Beatty of Miami, Judy (Charles) Simonds of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Martha Rester of Montrose; four grandchildren, Sonja Shaneyfelt, Jason Simonds, Cary Beatty and Justin Simonds; five great-grandchildren, Sarah Shaneyfelt, Abigail Simonds, Joshua Simonds, Kaitlyn Simonds and Amelia Simonds; other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Christ the King Catholic Church. A reception will follow.
