"font-family:">Lynn (Quinley) Head, born July 1,

1955 in Bay Minette, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday

evening, Dec. 18, 2011 after a long

illness.

"font-family:">She attended schools in Bay Minette,

graduating from BCHS in 1973 as a National Merit Honor

Scholar.

"font-family:">She attended Faulkner Junior College

for one year before enlisting in the United States Army. Lynn

served honorably for seven years, reaching the rank of Tech Sgt. in

intelligence gathering during the Cold War in Berlin and

Turkey.

"font-family:">While on active duty, Lynn completed

her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine

University.

"font-family:">Upon returning to civilian life, Lynn

was accepted into the University of Alabama School of Law where she

pursued her law degree. Lynn passed the Alabama Bar Examination on

the first attempt and began her practice in Bay Minette, later

moving to Daphne.

"font-family:">After Lynn and Gary were married they

decided to relocate to New Orleans where they resided in the French

Quarter to the present.

"font-family:">She is survived by her husband, Gary

Head of New Orleans; her stepson, Jeremy Head of Portland, Ore.;

her mother, Iona Quinley of Bay Minette; her brother, Jimmy Quinley

and her sister-in-law, Mildred Quinley, both Atlanta, Ga.; her

niece, Kristen Quinley Odom of Acworth, Ga.; and her nephew,

Alanson Hoffman of Bay Minette.

"font-family:">She was preceded in death by her

father, Adrian L. Quinley; and her sister, Leah Ann Quinley

Overstreet.

"font-family:">The funeral service will be held

Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at 10 a.m., at the chapel of Norris

Funeral Home, with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow

at Bay Minette Cemetery.
