M. Jack Christensen, 82 years young, a resident of Spanish Fort, went to Heaven Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013.
He retired from the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was also an R.O.T.C. instructor for Mobile Public Schools and a minister.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Cullison) Christensen of Spanish Fort; two sons, Mark (Shera) Christensen of Stapleton and Paul (Angelique) Christensen of Clermont, Fla.; one daughter, Staci (John) Smith of Prattville, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Miranda Christensen, Tiffany Christensen and Sara Beth Christensen, all of Stapleton.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at 11:30 a.m., at Stapleton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alan Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Stapleton Baptist Church.
To honor Jack’s dislike of coats and ties and his love for Hawaii, all people are encouraged to forgo the usual funeral attire. Comfortable clothes and upbeat attitude will be fine.
