M. Nell Dempsey, 79, born in Geneva, Ala. and a resident of Bay Minette, died at her residence Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Freddie Eugene “Gene” (Debbie) Dempsey of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Brenda Carol Dempsey and Betty Marie (Jeff) Wilson, both of Bay Minette; two sisters, Lurline Sumpter of Bay Minette and Christine Gibb of Mobile; sister-in-law, Cornelia Hudson of Bay Minette; two grandchildren, Charlotte (Derek) Quinley of Bay Minette and Zachary Thomas Dempsey of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and one great-grandson, Paul Quinley of Bay Minette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred B. Dempsey Jr.; three brothers, James Hudson, Glen Hudson and Grady Hudson; and four sisters, Cora Lee Haddox, Morre Cudd, Mammie Edge and Melba Greer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at 2 p.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with Bother Jerry Childs officiating.
Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, from noon until 2 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home.
Although the family will accept flowers, they suggest memorial contributions be made to the North Baldwin Infirmary Auxiliary, P.O. Box 1409, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
