Mark Douglas Mace, 48, a native of Shawnee, Okla., and a resident of Silverhill, died Tuesday Dec. 8, 2009.

He grew up in Oklahoma and attended Stroud schools. He later moved to Mobile.  He spent many years working in the heating and cooling industry and will be remembered for many things. His passions included his love and devotion to family, his loyalty to his customers, and his desire to care for animals.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Mace, and his grandparents Ruth and Harlan Gurney. 

 Survivors include his wife Dayna C. Mace of Silverhill; son Chris (Lisa) Mace of  Oklahoma City; daughter Brianna Mace of Claremore, Okla.; his mother Jan Mace of Mobile;  two sisters Marty (Brian) Thomas of Plano, Texas, and Paula Mace of Daphne; special friends, Becky Owen of Mobile and Betsy Leavitt of Daphne, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services and visitation were held Sunday, Dec. 13 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. A spring celebration will be held in Stroud, Okla., with dates to announced at a later time.

The family requests memorial donations be made to B.A.R.C (Baldwin Animal Rescue Center), P.O. Box 206 Fairhope, AL 36533.
