This week in Mrs. Davis’ kindergarten class, they use the computer to play educational games that help them learn new things. Their favorite time in her class is snack time.

In Mrs. Rozum’s first-grade class, their story is “A Big Fish for Max,” a story with the characters Max and Ruby. Their favorite things about Mrs. Rozum are reading and math.

In Mrs. Sisk’s second-grade class, they have been learning about owls. They do A.R., use an LCD projector, and go on to learning Websites every day. The kids love math, language, and reading.

Mrs. Welch’s third-grade class is excited about learning to subtract two-digit numbers. This week, they examined rocks to find similarities and differences. They are starting their landform projects. They will research landforms, pollution, or bodies of water, and then they will draw or cut out pictures and label them on a poster board.

Ms. January’s fourth-grade class has been making a Halloween scene and is going to write about it. They have also been reading “Grace and the Time Machine.” For math, they are learning algebra. To get ready for Red Ribbon Week, they are discussing the problems with substance abuse. The kids love reading, math, and fun activities.

Ms. Walker’s fifth-grade class is working on book reports for a chapter book. They are able to choose to be a news reporter, dress up like a character, build a book mobile, or make a glossary of important terms. They enjoy learning new things in science and in math on Moodle. In science, they are learning about animals, habitats, and ecosystems. Soon they will research, write a paper, and draw an ecosystem.

In Mrs. Bay’s sixth-grade class, they wrote “Diary of a Raindrop” to learn about the water cycle. They have also created posters of industrialists of the 19th century. They use technology for research and in all of their lessons. They are learning about decimals. The student’s favorite things are technology, history, and how funny Mrs. Bay is.

This week in Mrs. William’s special needs class, they are learning about community helpers and transportation. For technology, in their class they use the Smartboard to watch videos and do educational activities.

Ms. Littleton’s art classes have been painting castles with homemade paint. They use scraps of tissue to color the pictures. Whatever color the tissue paper is, the student puts it in water, and then it turns water the color of the tissue.
