MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. — More than a dozen children descended on Magnolia Springs Library Saturday afternoon for “Year of the Horse,” a celebration of the Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year. The event included Library Director reading about the history of Chinese New Year and the origin of naming each year after an animal. In addition, participants made Chinese masks that they wore during a Chinese New Year Parade and were treated to fortune cookies.
