MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. - The Magnolia Springs Town County unanimously approved a resolution at Tuesday's council meeting supporting the Community Services Block Grant.
The Community Action Agency asked for the council's support of the grant. The agency serves Baldwin, Escambia, Clarke, Monroe and Conecuh Counties and helps the vulnerable residents from these areas.
Magnolia Springs Mayor Charles Houser said the council supports the grant each year.
"The funds come from the federal government," Houser said.
In other news, the council:
• reappointed Jennifer Haffner and Ed Stone to the Planning Commission for six-year terms.
• reappointed Ken Underwood, Burt Hinson and Rodney Hubble to the Historic Preservation Committee for three-year terms.
• approved a transfer of the Beer and New Wine license for the Magnolia Springs Express.
