DAPHNE, Ala. — The Malbis Memorial Foundation erected a church Baldwin County in order to fulfill the wish of its founder, Jason Malbis, and for 45 years a Greek Orthodox church of Byzantine architecture has stood.
Members of all faiths — Christians and non-believers —from all over the world have come to see its architecture and interior adornments.
Now, the church can add another dimension to a visitor’s experience: Efthemios (Makis) Foropoulos, from the island of Patmos, Greece, a graduate of the Patmian Seminary School, and a Proto Psaltis (No. 1 Chanter) of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta, will be available to individuals and especially groups from all faiths to offer a talk on the Orthodox Church established in 33 A.D., and ecclesiastical Christian history.
These talks will take place on the first and third Saturdays throughout the year at 1:30 p.m. at the Malbis Memorial Church located at 29300 Alabama Highway 181, Daphne.
Prior arrangements may be set in advance by e-mail to scoretex@fsaccess.net or telephone 626-3369.
