Posted

Todd Stephan Neisler has been arrested for reportedly attempting to murder his wife by striking her with a mallet in the head several times after deputies found him in Lillian.

Sept. 19, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by authorities from the Birmingham U.S. Marshall’s Regional Task Force about a wanted subject from Gadsden that may be in Lillian. The wanted subject, Neisler, then fled the Gadsden area and traveled to Texas where an attempted apprehension resulted in a high speed chase with Texas Department of Public Safety Officials. Neisler was reportedly traveling at speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour. He eluded the Texas authorities and then traveled to a relative’s residence in Lillian.

Baldwin County Investigators set a perimeter around the residence in Lillian and observed a red 2011 Chevrolet Camaro in front of the residence that Neisler was last seen driving.

After approximately two hours of surveillance, deputies observed Neisler leaving the residence and get into the Camaro. While attempting to leave the area, he was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Baldwin County Corrections Center and placed under arrest for attempted murder. Neisler is being held without bond and on a hold Gadsden Police placed on him.
