SPANISH FORT, Ala. — At approximately 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Alabama State Troopers responded to investigate a three-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Mississippi man. The crash occurred on Interstate 10 approximately one mile east of Mobile.
The initial investigation indicates that a 1996 Chevrolet S-10 was traveling east in the westbound lanes. The driver, Donald L. Davis, 80, of Biloxi, Miss., was killed when his S-10 collided head-on with a 1998 Toyota Camry driven by James S. Fletcher, 29, of Mobile. After the collision, a 2008 Ford Escape driven by Murray L. Driskell, 60, of Mobile was struck by the Camry.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fletcher was transported by Life Flight to USA Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
Driskell was not injured in the crash.
State Troopers continue to investigate.
