FOLEY — A former resident of Foley pled guilty last week in a Baldwin County courtroom to a count of first-degree sexual abuse with a child under the age of 12.

Larry Herman Braun, 55, was living on Simmons Drive when Foley Police Department's investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct took place.

He was originally charged with four counts of first-degree sexual abuse but pled guilty in court to one count, said Lt. David White, lead investigator for FPD.

Braun was sentenced to eight years in prison on the sexual abuse charge.

The Baldwin County Corrections Center Web site shows Braun was booked into the facility on Dec. 20, 2006 on the first-degree sexual abuse charge.

His address is listed as a post office box in Gulf Shores.

White said the sexual abuse that occurred between Braun and the minor took place for over a year or two.
