BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The Baldwin County Sheriff Office  arrested Robert Glenn Pickle Dec. 5 on second-degree assault charges after an alleged altercation north of Bay Minette, according to a spokesperson for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department.

At about 10:50 a.m., Pickle suspected that subjects in a red Nissan pickup truck were illegally hunting on private property off Scottish Lane. Pickle pursued the vehicle, passed it, and slammed on brakes, causing the vehicle to come to a stop, according to the sheriff’s department.

He exited his vehicle with a .44-magnum revolver. A heated confrontation ensued between Pickle and Randy Vinson, a passenger in the truck. Pickle shot Vinson with rat shot that had been loaded in the revolver.

Vinson was transported to USA hospital where his injuries were found to be not life-threatening.
