Man sought on robbery

DAPHNE, Ala. — Police are seeking a man in connection with a bank robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon.

After Vision Bank was robbed between 12:50 and 1 p.m., a man fled the scene with an unknown amount of money; the suspect is wanted for first-degree robbery, according to the Daphne Police Department.

Robert Christopher McDaniel, whom police identified as the suspect, didn’t wear a mask during the robbery. He handed the teller a note that demanded money and said he had a gun, authorities said. The gun was never seen by witnesses, Daphne Police Lt. Jud Beedy said.

McDaniel left with the money and drove away in a black vehicle — possibly a Saturn — that had damage on the driver’s side, according to police.

No one was harmed; police are checking leads in attempt to locate McDaniel, Beedy said. Anyone with information can call the police department at 621-9100.
