The city of Foley would like to thank the hundreds of winter guests who attended the Walk through Foley Snowbird Reception held at the Foley Civic Center on Jan. 10. We are honored that you have chosen this area as your home-away-from-home for the winter, and hope that you will return again next year.
We extend a special thank you to our partner, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, for agreeing to co-host the reception, and especially chamber Events Director Kristin Roberson. Thank you also to the SBCC Blue Ribbon Team and Foley Visitor Center volunteers, who spent hours preparing materials for our guests.
Thank you to the Tanger Outlet Center for providing the bags used to distribute information. And thank you also to the many businesses and organizations who worked with us to make this first reception such a big success, by providing special coupons and materials for distribution for the winter guests.
Thank you to the following businesses that provided special gifts or refreshments: Community Coffee for providing freshly brewed coffee; Orange Blossom Square for providing a beautiful basket filled with items from each of the 14 stores; and Applebee’s for providing two gift certificates.
We would also like to thank the following representatives who personally spoke with visitors during the reception: Tom Brake, representing the Model Train Caboose Club; Perry Wilbourne, representing the A. Perry Wilbourne Antique Rose Trail; Vic Cirilli, representing the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce; Bonnie Blaylock and Zana Price, representing the Performing Arts Association; Leslie Lassiter, representing the Graham Creek Nature Preserve; Steve Horn and Kelly Wansley, representing the Foley Public Library; and Pam Harris and Mike McGowen, representing the Foley Senior Center.
The city of Foley and the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce are happy that so many winter visitors attended the event, to learn more about Foley and the businesses located within this area. We extend a thank you to everyone who participated, for making the first annual “A Walk through Foley” snowbird reception such a success.
