The Eastern Shore Literacy Council thanks the community for its generous support of the first annual Cinco de Mayo party.

The city of Daphne and their wonderful employees helped make the event at the Daphne Bayfront Park a great success. That facility overlooking the bay makes an ideal spot for a party and the guests enjoyed a lovely sunset. The House of Dixie and Los Taco were extremely helpful with the delicious food and beverages. Artists James Hood, Mary Hodgkins, Nancy Raia, Deborah McMillan and Bill Harrison graciously donated original art work. Local writers donated books, and Old Bay Steamer and Longhorn restaurants donated gift certificates, which all added to the fun of the evening. Most of all, thank you to the many wonderful people who bought tickets and supported the event.
